RIP Chongkham Sanjit
Manipur was once titled ‘Switzerland of India’ by the late P.M. of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, but the last week brutal killing and fake encounter of Manipur youth Chongkham Sanjit by Manipur Police commandos has pushed me into rethinking mode. The compliment ‘Switzerland of India’ given to this beautiful state with lovely people has lost its charm and relevance. Everything seems to be in confusion state from people of this state to the ruling government of this state.
State government and even central government of India has done nothing substantial for this state well I would say nothing substantial and concrete had been done for North Eastern States India since we got our Independence from British Raj.
Every Minister and every party are too much focused on northern and southern states of India because of vote bank that they don’t find anytime to concentrate on the development of these north eastern states. Since last decade Manipur is suffering, from custodial killings to fake encounters, from rapes to extortion by our security personnel’s, but No One care and No one give Dam about It.
I am really feeling ashamed to say the figures of Human Right violation here in these North Eastern states of India are astonishing. But again who cares? None
If we look at the pictures of this fake encounter we can imagine how much mockery of our constitution these people in Uniforms are making every day.
Every day people get killed some are terrorists and some innocents in the name of counter-insurgency. But no one is really bothered about plight of Manipur People. People here are suffering and unfortunately every leaders and mainstream media is busy in baking their own cakes. These entire things pushing me back and remind the past dark periods of my beloved country.
I just hope that justice will prevail and all the culprits involved in this fake encounter of this youth will meet the same fate.
