Indian Scientists of Institute of Tropical Meteorology are busy in developing new technique to create artificial rainfall. Well let’s hope and pray that our scientists at Institute of Tropical Meteorology will succeed in these cloud seeding experiments as India needs these sorts of technique in order to fight against droughts.
Scientists at its Institute of Tropical Meteorology disclosed a new series of “cloud seeding” experiments as fears of a drought grip a country praying for the heavens to open.
A delay in the arrival of this year’s monsoon has left India’s paddy fields parched and caused water-shortages throughout the main cities. A heatwave has claimed at least 24 lives, with the absence of the rain’s cooling effect on 45 degree C temperatures has caused power-cuts, while school summer holidays have been extended by a week in the hope of a downpour.
India’s agriculture, stock markets and the fortunes of its political parties traditionally depend on good monsoon rains. In one state, Andhra Pradesh, which has had only half the expected rainfall this month, farmers fear their crop yields could fall by 30 per cent. Read Full Artcile
Ekawaaz Thought: IT is very unfortunate to see that all our national weather reports are showing that India will have less rain this year, means dried up paddy fields and more headache for our debt ridden poor struggling farmers.
The urbanization of our villages and ramped deforestation’s of our forests had increased the environmental pollution and thus preventing the clouds to provide normal rainfall. No normal rainfall this year will prove to be very costly for India in coming years.
No rains means, less supply of drinking waters, shortage of electricity as most of hydro power projects will produced less power for industries and homes, our agriculture will suffer beyond our imagination, and finally all these will lead to unemployment and massive downfall in India’s big dreams of constant growth and development.
If India managed to make this cloud seeding technique successful this year then we will be able to put our droughts situation under control which is at the moment is out of control. I am just hoping that this method will works out for us and our scientist will be able to bring some joy and smile on the faces our poor farmers and also on faces of billion Indians’. We desperately need normal rainfall this year.
